Short version: Retro Station has no accounts and no server of its own holding your files. Your game files, save files, save states and BIOS images stay in the app's storage on your device and are never uploaded. We never ask for your name, email address or contact details.
This policy explains what the Retro Station app for iPhone and iPad (“Retro Station”, “the app”, “we”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the app and this website.
The following never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:
There is no cloud sync, no backup service and no upload feature. If you delete the app, this data goes with it.
Retro Station uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used in aggregate — which screens are opened, which features are used, whether the app crashes on a given device. These events are tied to an app-generated instance identifier, not to you. Firebase also processes standard technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a coarse country-level location derived from your IP address.
Event data never includes the names of your game files, the contents of your library, or anything about the files you import.
If you buy a subscription or the lifetime unlock, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment method, card number or billing address.
We use RevenueCat to validate the purchase receipt and to remember that your device is entitled to the paid features, so that the entitlement survives a reinstall or a new device. RevenueCat records the purchase against an anonymous, app-scoped identifier. It is not linked to a name, an email address or an account.
The app fetches configuration values (for example, pricing layout and which features are enabled) from Firebase Remote Config at launch. This is a download; the request carries the technical details any HTTPS request carries, and nothing about your library.
To show box art, the app may request images from the public libretro-thumbnails archive on GitHub. The request contains the title being looked up. The Discover section requests a catalog listing from our own content endpoint. Both are ordinary HTTPS requests: the servers involved see your IP address, as with any web request.
Crash and diagnostic information may reach us through Apple's own reporting, and only if you have opted into sharing it with developers in iOS Settings.

These providers operate internationally, so the limited data described above may be processed outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
Analytics events are retained by Firebase under its default retention window and then deleted or aggregated. Purchase and entitlement records are kept while the entitlement is live and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. On-device data lives on your device until you delete it or delete the app.
Retro Station is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
All network requests the app makes use HTTPS. On-device data is protected by iOS app sandboxing and the device's own encryption. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little: there is no user database to breach.
retrostation.fun is a static site hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare processes request logs, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the site. Page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request as part of serving them.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
